HISTORY
Having years of successful cooperation between Arabian Bemco Contracting Co. Ltd and Almabani General Contractors on large and prestigious projects, the two conglomerates – both having over 40 years of experience in the Middle East and the Gulf countries – have merged in Qatar into a new company: “BEMCO & ALMABANI ENGINEERING AND CONTRACTING CO.– UNICORP.” 
The merger aims to cover the market trend and the ever-increasing state-of-the-art construction requirements in the Gulf countries and elsewhere for power, industrial, oil & gas, civil and infrastructure projects such as airports, roads, bridges, etc., including operation and maintenance, on lump sum turnkey basis. 
Thus, today “UNICORP” – with incomparable wealth of technical and financial resources, coupled with a sizable fleet of construction equipment – offer its experience and capabilities to undertake and successfully execute projects of any complexity and magnitude.

The subcontract consists of the wet and dry utilities for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Dukhan Road East Contract which includes but not limited to the following works:

SCOPE OF WORKS:

The scope of work includes procurement, construction, commissioning, O&M, training of QF Staff and handover of Central Plant with cooling capacity of 32,000 TR.  CP7 occupies a building foot print of approx. 11,052 m2 with a basement level for chiller plants, distribution pumps and water storage tanks, approx. 8.5m deep. 

The maximum height of the exterior cladding is approx. 16m. The CP is to include new perimeter roads. 

The work includes but is not limited to:

  • All related civil construction works, tanking and architectural finishes, including procurement and fixing / installation of required accessories. 

The civil construction of below ground reservoirs and Pump Room at the Basement level of the CP, comprising Substructure (Reservoirs and Pump Room), and Superstructure (Control Room, Loading Bay, Workshop, Storeroom, Fan Room, Office and Ablution Room).

  • HVAC works, plumbing works, mechanical works, electrical works, fire alarm system, fire fighting system, chilled water system within the CP's (excluding the supply of chillers).
  • Security System, Earthing and Lightning protection System, SCADA control system.
  • Mechanical equipment for Reservoirs and Pump Rooms, including, but not limited to, irrigation pumps, fire pumps, make-up water pumps, filter pumps, filters, water treatment dosing systems, potable water pumps, sump pumps, supply/discharge and interconnecting piping, valves, appurtenances, controls, and associated ancillaries. 
  • HVAC equipment for Pump Rooms, including, but not limited to, package air conditioning unit, exhaust fans, air cooled condensing units, fan coil units, pipes, ducts, with associated valves, appurtenances, controls and associated ancillaries.
  • Electrical instrumentation and control related equipment for Reservoir and Pump Station, including, but not limited to, MCC panels, instruments, cable trays/ conduits for the LV electrical distribution for lighting, ventilation, fire alarm system, trays/conduits for laying low voltage communication and data transfer cables. 
  • Fire Alarm System for Pump Room, including, but not limited to, appurtenances, hose boxes, fire extinguishers and other associated ancillaries;
  • Access Hatches and Doors, all metal works accessories.
